Fresh Blackberry Granola Crisp
It’s officially blackberry season in the Pacific Northwest, and that means it’s time to make the most out of the sweet summer bounty. And what better way to do that than with blackberry granola crisp?
This delicious baked-until-bubbly dessert features the season’s freshest Washington-grown blackberries nestled under a layer of crunchy granola clusters. (Yes, it's a dessert worth turning your oven on for!)
Blackberry Granola Crisp
What you need
- 1-1/2 lbs. blackberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 2 cups Erin Baker's Fruit & Nut Granola
- 4 tbsp. Smith Brothers Farms Unsalted Butter, softened to room temperature
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. In a large mixing bowl, combine berries, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Set aside.
Mix granola and butter in another medium-sized bowl, mashing together with your hands until the mixture forms large clumps. Pour the berry mixture into a shallow 2-quart baking dish, and top with the granola mixture.
Place in the oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until blackberries are bubbling. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Serve with homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!
